the man behind that baby face?
gerber
is the dj moniker of Gabriel Groom. Gabe is a local singer
/ songwriter and the general manager of Bold Images Screenprinting
and Embroidery. He entered the local dj scene in the mid-nineties,
operating under the name DJ Gerber. He was also a founding
member of the local singing group, The Grooms, and has
been seen on stage in various roles with Falderal Musical
Theatre Company, including Charlie Brown in Falderal's
production of You're a Good Man Charlie Brown.
He is also a regular sound designer for local theatre
He
received a degree in art, then returned to Humboldt County
and kept spinning records. He produced several albums
of his own on the independent label, Twisted Infant
and moved heavily into the party scene, becoming
a regular guest dj at Humbrews, Muddy's Hot Cup, and other
local venues. When he's not making a new mix or tearing
up the vinyl, you can find him chilling at home with his
cat, Cleveland.
